Kingsthorpe Bowling Club willingly support our members whenever they undertake charity and fundraising events. Mick Spear has a touching story, about the wonderful staff at Cynthia Spencer Hospice who looked after his father and the whole family in his final weeks. His story details why he chose the “Place a Leaf on our Memory Tree” for his fundraising and why he is taking on the Jurassic Coastal Walk Ultra Challenge to walk 60 miles overnight.

My dad Bill had never been ill in his life. A strong man who always fought his corner. To him – you rubbed your knee better, got up and carried on running. When he was 79, he went into hospital to get his appendix removed. Soon after, he was diagnosed with cancer…….
